As an artist, my studio paint was extremely important. When painting, bounced light is a terrible thing for your visual discernment on the canvas. Most artists paint their studio a value 5 sage green. I find it quite depressing. I spend a great deal of time in my studio…so, I needed a color that makes me happy to look at it for hours and hours a day.
I went with a color that reminds me of my favorite palette color: Phthalo Green! It is the most beautiful paint color.
Last year, I went to a museum and fell in love with the wall color in the room that exhibited the works of Thomas Moran. On my way out, I stopped at the information desk to ask the color of the paint in that room. The lady did not know…but, took my information and said that she would have someone call me with the details.
A few days later, that call did come with the paint color: MOUNTAIN PINE.
